Barnsley House, Misarden, Rodmarton, Mary Keen's garden
The Old Rectory, North Cerney House, Painswick Rococco Garden, North Cerney House, Westonbirt Arboretum, Owelpen and Abbey House Gardens at Malmesbury.
Within an hour ... Hidcote, Kiftsgate, Sudley Castle and Sezincote are easily reached amongst others.
Winstone Glebe's own garden comprises about 2 acres and was laid
out by Dame Sylvia Crowe in the early l950s. Susanna has tried
to soften these rather austere bones with herbaceous borders and
spring bulbs all of which are surrounded by low Cotswold stone walls
giving an all round view of the surrounding countryside.
There
is a flourishing kitchen garden providing the house with seasonal vegetables, summer fruits and herbs. Colour throughout the year starts with carpets of aconites
at the end of January and finishes with Sedum Autumn Joy
which is generally not cut down until December.
The Parsons' daughter, Harriet, having studied at The Royal Botanical
Gardens at Kew for three years, is now introducing a more specialised
approach to her mother's garden.
